Mix With The Jungles Of Borneo - Use Hollywood Green Screen

By Phillip Guye

Film creating, editing as well as technical support do not amount anywhere in my dictionary. I am entirely unaware about how movies are made and also how they ultimately get to the screen on which I view them. To have a far better knowledge of the fine art and technology of motion picture making, I decided to go to one of my close friends, who seems to be continually busy shooting at some studio or the other. I would certainly always wonder just what he meant when he stated that he applied a Hollywood green screen. I kept pondering to myself that he couldn't be nearly as good as he often believed. In fact, I pondered whether all the shots that he had showed off, were his very own or not! Not really wanting to delay any longer for knowledge into this, I made the decision that I would pay a visit to the studio where he worked.

When I stepped inside the studio, I was first stunned to see a model positioned ahead of a huge green screen. So this was the Hollywood green screen which he kept talking about, I thought. I was correct; it was indeed the backdrop that he used. The actress obviously was dressed up for the part. The lady was dressed in khaki pants and a thin white tshirt which left extremely little to your imagination. Her curved contours did absolutely nothing to help the cameraman to concentrate on his lighting arrangements.

Because I was there to observe how the Hollywood green screen actually was employed, I tried my best to avoid any sight of the model; this was for fear that I would find myself asking her out. I do have to admit that she was a lot more interesting to glance at than this plain green screen that hadn't one single drawback or blemish.

Oh, by the way, I had forgotten to inform you that I had this other good friend who had escorted me to see the shoot. His eyes had a remote glance. Just when I assumed that he was going to cause stiff competition for me (in approaching the model), I realize that he was browsing past her. His sights were fixed on the background and he was striving to figure out exactly what product the green screen was made of.

Lastly, the shot was done, with the actress in a pose that suggested that she was strolling cautiously. Her facial expressions appeared to get outlined by the Hollywood green screen that was in the backdrop. I now began to wonder exactly how and when they were planning to shoot the Borneo jungle. This was then that my cameraman good friend took us to the editing and compositing area. Right here, I got to understand a few home truths about photography. There were several images of the jungle. The greatest amid the lot was picked and the exact same was superimposed on the photos with the model, in a way that it appeared much like she was strolling via some dense and scary scenery. - 42265
