Advice On Organising A Successful Corporate Function Or Event

By Jane Lillibot

Many times an occasion calls for organising a successful corporate function or event, and someone has to be in charge of it. This is when many people turn and run, because the thought of putting something like this together is just too overwhelming for them. It really isn't all that difficult if prioritizing is a strong point and panic isn't an issue.

On a list of priorities, finding a venue would probably be at the top. Without a venue, there really is no place to hold an event. Finding a proper venue isn't too difficult. Going on line can provide loads of information of available places that rent out for functions and events such as these. Knowing how big the venue needs to be will depend on the invitation list, so hopefully this has been created already.

Knowing what is available budget wise is very important. If there is not budget, than everything is good and there should be no problem finding what is needed. But more than likely there is, so make sure that the venue does not eat up too much of it, as there are still other high priced services that will need to be paid for.

When planning the menu, first decision to be made is what time of day the event will be held. The morning is nice because breakfast foods are not all that expensive, and lunches are good because finger foods can be arranged.

Of course, dinner will be the most expensive meal and will vary depending on if it is a buffet or a sit down event. Make sure when planning a meal for many people that a variety of food is offered. There are people who do not eat red meat, and some that are vegetarians. Be respectful of their preferences and have something on the menu that they can be comfortable with.

Plan and organize the evenings events. If there will be speakers, plan an agenda and make sure it is clear with everyone involved who will speak and when that will happen. There should be no surprises and everyone should be prepared.

Planning the entertainment for the evening will be important, as it will keep the interest of the guests. If there will be music, consider a live band. People enjoy the interaction of musicians and they often cater to their guests, singing songs that are requested and playing it up for everyone. After organising a successful corporate function or event, sit back and enjoy it with everyone else.
