Is This It is a Delight for Any MJ Lover

By Casey Blanc

I'll be the first to admit that I'm a huge fan of Michael Jackson's earlier work, but I was never much of a fan of his lifestyle during his later years.

I don't blame the guy. He was under all kinds of pressure that I couldn't even fathom, and dealing with his success must have been a huge struggle.

Jackson's glory days occurred more than 20 years ago and while he's never been the same ever since, he produced some decent music earlier this decade. It was rumored that another album was in the works, but expectations were nowhere nearly as high as they would have been at his peak.

Regardless of the case, Michael Jackson's 'Is This It' was a movie that I went into with low expectations. I was always waiting for that one MJ revival, and it was so unfortunate to see his tragic ending, as he left us at such a young age.

Expectations were low for this movie across the board, as I've seen many moviegoers saying the same thing. Who would expect a frail, weak Michael Jackson to still have it in him? I know that I certainly didn't.

Jackson was a natural born performer, and regardless of his usual physical state, a different Jackson came out while he was on stage during these rehearsal sessions. It was very interesting to see such a transformation.

Jackson's voice sounded like his usual voice, and his dance moves were still some of the best in the game. We saw a playful side of Jackson too, which really brought out the fact that he was in fact an ordinary human being, despite his eccentricities.

This was an exceptional movie, as real as it gets. No Hollywood effects, simply real footage of the King of Pop during his final performance. I'd highly recommend this movie to just about anyone.
