Guitar Plans - Making Multiple Copies

By Nicole Mil Baker

You have simply bought a set of guitar plans and are able to get to work building your guitar. However you don't wish to compromise or destroy your original paper plans to build the drafts. What can you do to solve this problem?

Yes, you can easily make further blueprint copies by heading out to a photocopier store but some of these drawings have copyrights connected to them, and we do not want to trespass on those laws. This simple yet conventional process of creating templates will work in any scenario you're in and in your own shop.

Supplies You Will Want - Listed below are the things you will want to make the blueprint. You most likely have already got them on hand.

* A pair of scissors or a sharp blade for cutting * Charcoal marker or colored chalk for carbon copying * A Masking tape to hold it together * A pencil to trace and mark * Blueprint materials like cardboards, tracing papers, or even thick poster boards.

Step 1 - Prepare to transfer the guitar form to the poster board. This system is known as making a carbon copy. Take the guitar plans and place it face down over a white surface on a table, if you can't see the traces clearly then take the plans and put it face down on a lighted background. This may be on a lighted desk or towards a window in your shop through the day. The purpose is that you want to clearly see the traces on the front when looking on the backside of the plans.

Step 2 - Copy over the lines. Using the charcoal pencil or coloured chalk, start to trace or mark over the lines of the guitar shape and sound hole. This doesn't must be pretty or exact simply be sure it is thick in width and over the mandatory lines. When you find yourself finished take a tissue paper and calmly wipe off the surplus charcoal or chalk.

Step three - Now you are ready to make your carbon copy. Place the poster board (or skinny cardboard) tightly on a table. Then overlay it with the guitar plan with the charcoal side face down making contact to the poster board. Subsequently, secure the guitar plan to the poster board with the masking tape. Begin simply tracing over the guitar shape and sound gap along with your pencil. There isn't a need to press hard because the charcoal will transfer with simply light pressure.

Step four - If you're accomplished tracing over the guitar outline, gently remove the tape and carry the plan away from the poster board. Now that the outline is visible on the poster board, take a minute to darken the line along with your pencil.

Step 5 - Now it's time to cut out your template. Utilizing a pair of scissors or a hobby knife, cut out the form of the guitar. Take your time with cutting to keep away from any uneven edges. Bear in mind, this is your template, and you want it good and smooth.

Your guitar template is now completed just repeat the process for the neck, bracing patterns, side panels, and other templates when you have need of them.
